I was brought in to add motion to a Supercell event highlight video. The original ask was simple, add tasteful scribbles to lift a few moments. I proposed to add a something more: let the edit slip in and out of a game world with quick transitions.
For the motion language I created two parts. First, quick “world-jump” transitions that briefly turn people into a game-style pass, then snap back to reality. Second, small hand-drawn accents that emphasizes laughs, reactions and fun moments.
I love video games, so working on this project was a joy. More than adding scribbles, this was about bringing game language into a highlights reel. I had a ton of fun shaping the style, creating a playful bounce between worlds that makes the video more dynamic and fun while staying true to Supercell’s brand.
Huge thanks to Tommy Beal for the trust and for bringing me in, is always a joy to team up with him.
