I collaborated with Andy to create a short film that captures his story and vision for Ojai, highlighting his commitment to the community. The film emphasizes Andy's values of goodwill, compromise, and respect, all portrayed through an authentic and approachable lens.
The intention was not to create a political ad, but a personal portrait. A film that felt human, transparent and easy to connect with. We focused on Andy’s story, his values, and what matters most to him. Our goal was simple: to reveal his essence, his commitment to the community, his approachability, and the thoughtful vision he holds for the future of Ojai.
I directed, filmed, and edited the piece across various locations in Ojai, including Andy’s home, garage, Libbey Park, and nearby trails, capturing quiet moments from his real daily life.
Every location was intentionally chosen: filming at his actual home helped ground the video in authenticity and approachability, rather than staging it somewhere polished or impersonal. We wanted to reflect who Andy truly is, thoughtful, grounded, and present in his community.
The pacing was kept intentional: calm, reflective, and honest. The voiceover interview drives the story, while the imagery supports and expands on it.
We wanted it to feel real, not performative.
What I’m most proud of is how this piece captures Andy’s authenticity. It’s not flashy or overly produced, just an honest visual story that helped people understand who he is and what he stands for.
